Smugglers Rock Country House is a stone built Georgian property built in approximately 1840. The house is situated in Ravenscar in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park and has panoramic sea and countryside views. The Guest House has eight lovely bedrooms. There is a spacious guests' lounge and an open-beamed breakfast room where we have a comprehensive breakfast menu with a self service breakfast bar where you can help youself to a variety of cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit, yogurts, and a selection of fruit teas. We serve thick white and brown toast, Yorkshire leaf tea or Fairtrade cafetiere coffee, both of which taste wonderful with our own filtered water pumped from our borehole. Our 'Delicious Yorkshire' cooked breakfast is oven cooked in our Aga and consists of locally sourced food including eggs from our own free range hens. We also serve Earl Gray leaf tea, decafeinated tea and coffee.

All our bedrooms are nicely furnished and have solid pine furniture. Three of our rooms have four poster beds and some have long distance views. Most of the rooms have:

* Tea/coffee making facilities with luxury biscuits, fruit teas, hot chocolate and
decaffeinated coffee
* Complimentary mineral water

* Free WiFi in most rooms and in the guest lounge
Our guest lounge is comfortable and spacious with a television and plenty of reading material available (including local interest information, magazines and paperback books). Please note we do not have any ground floor bedrooms.

Smugglers Rock is an ideal place to stay for a relaxing holiday in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside but between Scarborough and Whitby (only 10 and 12 miles away respectively). Robin Hood's Bay is easily accessible by road or on foot and York is only an hour's drive away.

The Guest House is TOTALLY NON SMOKING and is unfortunately unsuitable for pets.

TARIFF (per person per night) based on a 2 night minimum stay in an en-suite room.
(Please note we will accept last minute one night bookings)

We welcome children and charge £23-£25 per child per night when sharing with two adults. Children aged 16 and over are charged at adult rate. There is no charge for babies in their own cot. Please check before booking as not all rooms are suitable for a cot.

The Guest House is open from 1st April until 31st October 2010

High Season : 1st-4th April, 30th Apr-2nd May, 28th May-5th June, 16th July-4th Sept

Mid Season : 6th June-15th July, 5th September-30th September

Low Season : 5th-29th April, 3rd-27th May, 1st-31st October

Booking Conditions : Please contact us by telephone, e-mail or post. Bookings will be held for a maximum of 5 days pending receipt of a non-refundable deposit of £30 per room per night (min. £60). Cheques should be made out to 'Smugglers Rock'. Alternatively, debit/credit cards are accepted for telephone bookings. You can also book on-line where full payment is required by debit/credit card.

Cancellation Policy : Bookings cancelled or altered within 7 days of arrival or during the period booked will be charged for in full, unless we are able to re-let the room(s), when the full amount will be refunded, less the deposit paid. Bookings cancelled outside of 7 days will be charged at £30 per room per night (min. £60). We strongly advise guests to take out insurance in case of cancellation.

Normal check-in time is from 4pm-6pm on day of arrival (please give at least 48 hours notice if you plan to arrive after 6.00pm but please note our latest check-in time is 9.30pm). Check-out time on day of departure is by 10.00am
