We have three self-catering cottages at Smugglers Rock. All are NON-SMOKING and sleep four people (including a baby in a travel cot*). All three cottages are well equipped with flatscreen TV with freeview, DVD player, CD/stereo, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, electric cooker, coffee machine or cafetiere, kettle and toaster and all are provided with patio furniture and barbeque. Bed linen, bath, hand and kitchen towels are provided and heating and electricity are also included, together with off road parking. We also provide a welcome tray for your arrival, usually consisting of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, eggs, butter, biscuits, cereal, jam portions and a bottle of wine.

Smugglers Rock and Smugglers Cove Cottages have electric fires and overnight storage heating and both kitchens have been newly refurbished. They both have a 4 star rating with the English Tourist Board. Smugglers View Cottage has oil fired central heating and also has a 4 star rating.

Smugglers Rock Cottage (no. 1) English Tourist Board 4**** comprises: ground floor-entrance vestibule leading into lounge. Lounge with electric fire and stairs to first floor. Full equipped kitchen/diner with fully fitted units, appliances as above. Door leading to shared patio, garden area and parking. First floor-2 bedrooms; one double (can also accommodate travel cot*) and one twin (2 x 2'6" beds), bathroom with 3 piece suite (shower over bath). Distant coastal views from some windows.

Smugglers Cove Cottage (no. 2) English Tourist Board 4**** comprises: ground floor-entrance vestibule leading into lounge with electric fire and dining area. Inner hallway with spiral staircase to first floor and door to kitchen. Fully equipped kitchen/diner with appliances as above, door leading to shared patio, garden area and parking. First floor-two bedrooms; one double (can also accommodate travel cot*) and one twin (2 x 2'6" beds), bathroom with 3 piece suite (shower over bath). Distant coastal views from some windows.

Smugglers View Cottage (no. 3) English Tourist Board 4**** comprises: entrance from private gravelled garden area with patio furniture and barbeque into kitchen with fully fitted units, appliances as above and a combined washer/dryer. Dining area with exposed stone wall and door to inner hallway. Hallway has doors to; double bedroom with 4-poster bed (can also accommodate travel cot*); twin bedroom with 2 x 2'6" beds and fantastic views; bathroom-shower cubicle with power shower, washbasin and toilet; staircase to first floor. First floor-stairs leading directly into the upstairs lounge which has a stripped pine floor, wood-burning stove and spectacular views over the countryside and down the coast towards Flamborough Head. This cottage was new in 2003 and is furnished in pine to a very high standard throughout. NB. Due to the staircase opening directly into the upstairs lounge, small children need careful supervision.

The cottages are situated in Ravenscar which is at the southern end of Robin Hood's Bay. They are an ideal place to stay for a relaxing holiday or as a base for exploring the countryside and lovely towns and villages on this stunning part of the coast and Yorkshire moors. There are many walks including the Cleveland Way, the dis-used Scarborough to Whitby railway line and also the new Moors to Coast cycle route which runs past the house.

To make a booking please contact us by telephone, e-mail or post. Bookings will be held for a maximum of 5 days pending receipt of a non-refundable deposit cheque in favour of 'Smugglers Rock' for 30% of the rental fee. The balance will be due 8 weeks before arrival date. You can also book online where full payment will be required in advance. Cottages are available from 4.00pm on day of arrival and should be vacated by 10.00am on day of departure.
*A travel cot and highchair can be supplied on request, but please bring your own cot bedding.
Two of our cottages accept a dog (but ONLY by arrangement and at time of booking), but it must not be left unattended in the cottages. NB. Two dogs may be allowed our of season.
