Smugglers Rock Country House, Ravenscar is a stone built Georgian property built in approximately 1840. The house is situated in the beautiful North York Moors National Park and has panoramic sea and countryside views with wonderful walks in every direction.
The Guest House (VisitBritain rated 4 star with breakfast award 2000-2016 until the scheme closed), has seven lovely bedrooms, beautifully furnished with solid pine furniture. Two of our rooms have four poster beds and some have long distance views down the coast. There is a spacious guests' lounge with flat screen tv and plenty of reading material. We provide a comprehensive breakfast menu in our open-beamed breakfast room. We also have a free car park for guests' use.
Smugglers Rock is an ideal place to stay for a relaxing holiday, or as a base for exploring the lovely towns and villages on this stunning part of the coast, but still amidst the Yorkshire countryside. We are situated halfway between Scarborough and Whitby, with Goathland (Heartbeat), Grosmont (steam railway) and Robin Hood's Bay all within easy reach. We also have an electric car charging point (type 2), with useage charged at cost. Must be pre-booked and have own charging lead.
The guesthouse is now closed temporarily due to Covid19. We hope to open subject to Government guidance on Monday 17th May
